Information About Joining

Membership of SASMOA and of ASMOF (SA Branch) is open to all salaried medical practitioners who are registered with the Medical Board of Australia and employed in South Australia.

• Fees vary by position and experience.
• Members of SASMOA also become Members of ASMOF (SA) at no extra cost.
• Membership is active from the date the SASMOA Council and/or ASMOF Council endorses a new membership.
• Membership fees are tax deductible.

Medical students can also join SASMOA for free, as student members. Student membership is an "Associate" form of membership and does not include Member voting rights, which full paid membership does, but allows access to Member Updates and other important information relevant to your future careers.

It is important to be familiar with the Member Representation Policy before joining, in particular if you have a pre-existing issue (please note: SASMOA and ASMOF service our financial members and has clear processes for support we can provide for doctors who join with pre-existing industrial problems). The Policy is available below.

SASMOA's subscription year is the calendar year - 1 January to 31 December. Membership is ongoing from the date Council endorses a new membership until the Association is notified otherwise, and fees may increase from time to time at SASMOA's discretion.

It is the responsibility of the Member to keep their contact and banking details up to date; contact details can be altered online but for banking details please contact SASMOA Administration.

To become a Member of SASMOA and/or ASMOF simply click on the Join SASMOA/ASMOF NOW link below, complete the registration form and make an online payment. A verification email will be sent to you requesting confirmation, upon which your account will be activated allowing you full access to the Member website.
